Going Global?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Man U to Manhattan?
Arsenal to Addis Ababa?
Liverpool to Las Vegas?
Derby to Disneyland?
Premiership gravy train
hurtling to a city near you.
Game’s ‘top’ chairmen so
out of touch, it beggars belief;
why don’t they just
come out and and say it?
“Let’s make pots of money.”
Like champagne socialists, they
talk of “redistribution”.
Try telling that to chairmen in charge
of struggling lower league clubs.
Now overripe Cherries
plunge down League 1 tree
to lie, rotting, at the bottom.
£4 million in debt;
roughly the future fee for
a game played in Fantasyland.
Try this for size:
Man U to Morecambe.
Arsenal to Accrington.
Liverpool to Luton.
Blackburn to Bournemouth.
All proceeds to lower leagues:
History made.

Notes

One day the sheer greed of the top clubs and their money grabbing chairmen will surely kill the game we love.
