Greece v Cote D’Ivorie.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I was sitting there amazed
Greece weren’t heading for the plane
Long before the start of this here game
They looked like strugglers prior to this
Though the times last night they hit
The woodwork, tells me they’ve improved their aim.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Ya Ya running with the ball
Frightens me to the core
So what he did to Greece I’ve no idea
Who were fortunate on occasion
In avoiding those one on one situations
That could have seen them seriously in arrears.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Two subs within thirty minutes
Tested what The Greek squad had in it
As Kone and Karnezis suffered knocks
Nowadays it’s not about eleven Gods
Giving their all for ninety minutes odd
But the twenty two selected by the boss.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Anyway enough of that, the question
Of Cote D’Ivorie possession
Was concerning and a worry for tired Greece
Who found the Elephants Achilles heel
Them marched on quickly to one nil
With a smartly taken goal from Samiris.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Would The Drog now come alight
Would Ya Ya be able to shove a side
The tolling ancient Greek defensive lads?
Well eventually they did
And when Swansea’s Wilfred Bony slid
The leveller in, we cheered Cote D’Ivorie like mad.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But where there’s happiness there’s pain
So with a need to score again
Greece stood toe to toe with Cote D’Ivorie
and in the third of the added minutes
Ex Maine Road’s Gorgy help them win it
With an ice cool pen, to avert a tragedy.

Notes

A pretty cool pen and no mistake. He doesn’t remember it, or so he said afterwards?

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
