it doesn’t mean I don’t care,
or that I’ll play this game lightly –
for pride, I wouldn’t dare!

true this is not my league,
true it’s my only game for you,
but I’m still loathe to concede.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And as if for my own team,
I will do anything,
at any speed, for any shot,
I’m hungry for the win.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Never played for this lot before,
probably shan’t again,
but for this evening this is my team,
and by God, we’ll win this game.

Notes

I played as a stand-in last night in a 5-a-side match. I was the only girl on the pitch and only knew one player in my team from work. Great fun!
