Hatred En Masse?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 As a corner kick was given against us
Which the other side’s captain walked over to take
He was stopped in his tracks as the blue and white mass
Made that end of our stadium vibrate with hate

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 What did he do. Did he slag off, ridicule
Or make snide remarks of our team?
No! Maybe instead he preferred to stay red
And stay loyal to his chosen town team

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There can be no excuse for this kind of abuse like,
“I just had one over the eight”
When the home fans are chanting and ranting together,
In harmonious venomous hate

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The faces contorted with anger
In such a frightening and frenzied attack
Did cause us to be scared
As we stood there and stared at this mayhem
It turned the sweet taste of our victory flat

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Such vitriol has nothing to do with football
It’s unadulterated hatred. It’s as simple as that
Until our stadia are free from repartee such as these
Our game’s reputation’s in jeopardy
It’s sad to say these are the facts!

Notes

This was extremely frightening and no mistake.

Chelsea v Liverpool at Stamford Bridge yesterday, Liverpool get a corner as Steven Gerrard walks over to take it, this frenzy of madness just erupts and spreads like wildfire.

Gerrard seems reluctant and rightly so to walk into this corner of the pitch that we in sit to take the kick, where it would seem thousands of these distorted faces full of hatred are baying “You’ll never play for Chelsea” perhaps he was right not to sign for us after this outburst!

I looked around me and was very scared at what was happening both to Steven Gerrard and the so called beautiful game we call football!

The girl who sits next to me was also extremely worried and said to me
“I felt so sorry for Steven Gerrard just then, he looked very scared”.

Were we the only two people in a packed stadium to notice this very sad and quite worrying incident?
