Hello… Goodbye…

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re off on a soiree to Italy
To cross swords with a much beloved loss
Who left his mark on our history?
Winning back-to-back Premiership pots.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Arrived in London with an unabashed ego
Departed without a goodbye
For whatever reason, will us fans ever know?
Though we’ll welcome him back for this tie.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 His overcoat holds a place in our annals
His interviews lit up our lives
Creating interest on sports T.V channels
With that sparkle that shone and his smile.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 His sayings have gone down in our history
His mind-games a pure joy to behold
“Spurs came and parked the team bus in front of their goal”
“Arsenal could sure use Abramovich’s dough”.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Nights at The Nou Camp, big games at The Bridge
Where the pressure would have silenced most men
The Duffer and Robben on fire down both wings,
Beating United one-nil at Wembley.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 We’ve a special place in his heart till forever
That’s no cheap yarn that the media spun
You’re very welcome back Jose whenever
It suits son, for the great times you gave to West London!

Notes

I know this poem is a little pre-mature, as The Special One ain’t coming back to our place until the second leg of The Champions League tie, but sat watching the managers doing post match interviews on MotD last night made me realize how boring the football chat has become now Jose Mourinho is no longer there to really get them at it and liven up the proceedings.

Loathe, love or dis-like Jose Mourinho. I for one can’t wait for him to return to these shores, coz whoever he manages, life will never be dull.

Peace.

Kev.
