Here We Go Again

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 England huffed and puffed
liked passing the ball back,
no real creativity or guile
reluctant to go on the attack.
Harry Kane the invisible man
Three Lions with no bite,
look void of ideas or threat
so not alright on the night.
But all is not lost as yet
they live to fight another day,
they may get better and improve
show us fans they can really play.
Southgate has said his team are progressing
and aren’t yet ready to lift the crown,
that’s not what supporters want to hear
turning smiles into a frown.
But we have to stay positive
and just hope for the best,
so come on England
you can still beat the very best.

Notes

Not the greatest performance by England v Scotland, but at least we never got beat. I can’t see us winning the tournament, but I’ll remain hopeful that at least they can give the fans something to cheer about .
