Driving through West Derby
on my way into Town
thought to stop off at Melwood
Liverpool`s training ground
as per usual a crowd had gathered outside
getting memorabilia signed
collecting autographs and taking pictures
and checking out next month`s fixtures

Father`s and Son`s
Daughter`s and Mum`s
generations of support
from round the corner
all around the world
even across to Ellesmere Port
Father`s standing while their Son`s look over the wall
to catch a glimpse of Owen and Heskey on the ball
they cannot wait till match day
they need their daily fix
they have to cheer on their idols
watch them perform the tricks

i`ve done all that
got the t-shirt on me back
it`s something in Liverpool we all do
don`t matter if you support the reds
don`t matter if you`re a blue
once i bunked on the team bus
hid at the back next to Terry Mc
was shocked to hear him swear
” driver stop the bus to get this little….out me chair ”
but they were the best days
we were the best i had ever seen
now when i look at the team
not the same and they never will be..
