High Price Vice

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Why do we keep going season after season?
Non-believers around us can’t see the reason
They just see us after we’ve lost a game
They hear us moaning and feel our pain
The next weekend, we go back again

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’re away from our work
And the problems of home
We can forget sorrows that haunt us
When we’re alone

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Whatever else is going on in our life
We can block out the kids, the boss and the wife
For ninety minutes we can forget
Everything that’s wrong, the debts, the regrets
We can go where we need to be
It’s where we belong, together we’re strong
From that first whistle they’re playing ‘our song’

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Talk tactics, Plan B’s, teams and techniques
Running gags with your mates, same banter each week
It’s possible your life may be in tatters
But when kick-off comes, nothing else matters

Notes

Supporting your club is often the one constant through your life, whatever league or non league they’re in.

Success is: going from being heckled by one man and his dog to being booed by 40,000 fans

Relegation is: JUST TWO GAMES AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the Ball City!
