Hillsborough

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A spring day in 1989;
A cup semi final in 1989.
As the trees bustle in Sherwood Forest
the nearby Forest football team flock to Sheffield.
As the Anfield Kop celebrates
the Reds begin the road to Wembley

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 At the Leppings Lane end
A bend in football was to happen
as upon that day , human error was to blame.
Terror as Liverpool fans were crowded into the sardine tin,
Terror as the terraces screamed to be let free.
As 92 perrish , we wonder what might have been.
For their souls shall always be with us

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 God speed
