Spain and Portugal looking dire
Greece is on the verge of going skint
Ireland and Italy fear the worst
As the French shut down The Bourse
Whilst in England we’re relieved, though somewhat in it.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Then The Euros roll on in
Give us and hope and make us sing
No matter where our loyalties may lie
Flick the telly on most nights
Catch the foot-balling delights
As a sure fire way to sparkle up your life.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There’s the awe-inspiring aura
The painted faced supporters
Smiling when their faces fill our screens
Agony and ecstasy
The winning, or getting beat
Via our tellies show us what real passion means.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 In austere days at our jobs
Where the mood was lets be honest
Not exactly filled with tons of laughs
We now smile and talk of Lawro’s
Seeds of wisdom for the morrow,
Or that German way of mixing skill with graft?

Their hot dogs taste sublime
Angela Merkel’s cute and really on it
With Joachim on the bench
Decked out in Marks and Spencer’s
The star is on the rise for Team Teutonic.

This fan has watched in ages
Were easing through the gears like in a Merc
Though The Netherland’s turned up
They were Tulips being crushed
When the Germans midfield set about it’s work.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 When you’re winning at a canter
Conceding one don’t matter
If you keep your heads and focus on the fight
The Dutch team having scored
Were lucky that the board
Didn’t show the proper story up in lights.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 That in-house squabbling amongst The Dutch
Once again has reared its nut
As Robben clearly showed when he was tugged
While Huntelaar in attack
Had a face like a derriere been smacked
On finding out that he was of the subs.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Enough of the whining Dutch
Whose Oranje fans deserve so much?
For rallying behind the team when all seemed lost
Will this awesome German side prevail?
To once more blaze a trail?
Well I’ve not seen nowt thus far whom they won’t boss!

Notes

How do the Germans keep this wonderful production line churning out top class players, year in year out? This latest crop are on course to win the European Championship easily in my eyes. But hey what do I know?
