Homesick Boro in Need of Cure

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 … – – – …
H E L P!
Riverside Stadium of the Boro
In grip of an epidemic
Or rather the opposition goal mouth,
Where for the last three home games
All Boro players seem to be overcome
By sickness which stops them
Burying the ball in the back of the net.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 This Hollywood movies type of critical sickness
No visible symptoms
But the sufferer
Inevitably meets his maker,
Likewise Boro sliding down the table
Chance of promotion slipping with each home match.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Last three home games
Nine points lost,
Every expert, writer, supporter or quack
Has prognosis
The squad is too young
They and the manager
Lack the spark and creativity
Shrinking home support.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 To our Spanish friend ayuda,
Hilfe to the Germans
To the Japanese tasukete
Bahng to the Chinese,
Please help in any way
Send in your best.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Rumours have began to circulate
Possibility of a poltergeist?
SOS to all exorcists,
Witch-doctors shaman and ghost buster,
Please save us from
Another season in the Coca-Cola Champions league.

Notes

Written after Boro’s 1 – 0 defeat by Watford at home, inspired by Eric Paylor’s article in the Monday’s Sport Extra, Evening Gazette.
