Hope

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Hope springs eternal in the human breast
An old proverb with which we are blessed
Response to seeing our beloved club crest

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Hope springs a leak halfway through July
As pre-season warm ups test our summer buys
Lose to non-league opposition, fans go home to cry

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our best players can’t wait to leave
Smoking ban means no more pipe dreams
No petit four, just custard creams

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Earnshaw signed for Derby to earn more
Etuhu joins Keane in the Premiership war
Again we pick ourselves off the floor

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We walk on, with hope in our handcart (this is Norfolk remember)
Though our dreams be lost and turn to nightmares after dark
But we do have hope, and that’s a start

Notes

Pre-season is a mixed bag. Signed some, sold some, lost 2-1 and won 12-0. That’s the thing with football: sometimes its fillet steak, sometimes its tripe.
