You must face if you are sick

I blame Thatcher.

With no shoes upon their feet
That you sometimes chance to meet,
I blame Thatcher.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Student loans, tuition fees,
Foot and Mouth, Mad Cow Disease,
Shoestring budget OAPs?
I blame Thatcher.

For a land that does not care,
For the folk who stand and stare,
I blame Thatcher.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 For the few Top Flight Clubs’ greed,
For the news we hear or read
Of a Team in direst need,
I blame Thatcher.

Even Rotherham’s sad plight,
I blame Thatcher,
I blame Margaret Hilda Thatcher.

Notes

I read with interest poems on the Rotherham situation by Mark Merriman and Crispin Thomas. This is my own poetic response.
Of course it is unfair to blame Mrs T directly for Rotherham’s misfortune, but, she may bear some indirect responsibility. Consider one of her famous utterances:”There is no such thing as society”. What do you reckon?
