I Remember Days Not Long Ago!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I remember days not ago
When the Thames ran by our street
Black and white telly was just in vogue
The Germans had been beat

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 River boats and tugs passed by
On the way to Hampton Court and Kew
The stench coming off the river
Would almost make you spew

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As Bobby Moore held cup aloft
A new idol had been born
A working class boy could
Still reach the top despite
A class system so forlorn

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 After ’66’ the football
Became a new pastime
To try and emulate the boys
We’d play it all the time

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 As I ponder on the past
Its makes me kinda sad
What I wouldn’t do for
A MK 10 jag
Crombie coat and twenty fags!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 peace

Just reading a couple of old football books that someone very kindly bought me and they inspired this!
