I was not there but I know

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I was not alive in ’89 when 96 fellow reds lost their lives
I rember some years ago being told by my dad of Liverpool’s
FA Cup history when we got to the year 1989 and he said

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 “On the 15th April 1989 I was driving the buses looking forward to
hearing the score as I walk into the restroom someone comes up to me and says
“”The match was abandoned 96 are now confirmed to be dead””
I just stood there in complete and utter shock”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And since that day I have strifed to learn all I can about that dreadful day
The How’s? The Why’s
And not forgetting those sickening lies
How we have campaign for justice for 22 years and yet still it has not come
How those South Yorkshire Police men sleep at night I shall never know

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I was not alive when 96 fellow reds lost their lives
I cannot imagine what it must have been like there in the Lepping’s Lane
The shouting, the screaming, the dying all around

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 And even though I wasn’t there in ’89 I will never forget the 96
And I shall never buy The S*n

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Those 96 fellow reds who never returned
will never be forgotten
