The Ox immediately comes clean
Owning up to a handball offence
Which the ref deemed worthy of a red-card,
Awarding a pen,
Without even consulting the lino,
About an infringement
I doubt he (the ref) actually witnessed
Thereby dismissing the wrong man,
Who was nowhere the incident.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But the under-fire ref
(and a future Specsavers icon surely?)
Is having none of it:
Telling The Ox in no uncertain terms:
“Shut up Walcott I’ve sent him off
and that’s the end of it, do you hear me?.

If you tried could yer?
Well for a bit of a laugh I have
But…..are the half dozen lines
I’ve written in jest
Really that far removed
From what actually happened
Over here in West London
In The Derby last Saturday afternoon?

Just my take on a joke doing the rounds over here in West London at the moment. But as the title of the piece suggests; did The astute Alsatian actually see what happened from the touch-line? Indeed he was very serene about it afterwards in the post match if he did?
