If You Could Write The Script

if you could pen the story
the endless years the pain and tears
the lifelong thirst for glory
or if you could express at all
just how it feels inside
this outpour of emotion
the passion love and pride
you’d be a football Shakespeare
your quill would be alive
with journeys to those far flung parts
to sometimes just survive

it’s written on the wind
they say a lot of crazy things
but someone has to win
the rivalry we always feel
at times gets blown away
no place for hatred in this game
we cheer on who we may
our hearts go out to Bayern
to ‘Arry’s Tottenham too
but love or loathe the way it’s won
the world has all turned blue

the crazy Chelsea story
you’d be insane but still be drained
on such a night of glory

Shameless one team poem….

so many years of watching in almost resignation…i’m still drained.

I was looking after the grand kids with Jennie- watching live on a Mac in the kitchen in Bath while they were watching a DVD (Captain America) on the big plasma screen in the front room…but they did let me watch the pens at the end on the proper TV..and we all went mental…

If it had been any English/British/Irish PC correct team (!) I’d have been there… and was there in front rooms down the years – cheering them all on (Celtic Man U Liverpool Villa Arsenal Notts F and Leeds) in previous finals…

you have to love him and loathe him don’t you Drogba..silly money on offer from China though..(do the right thing RA)
Have a great Summer and bring on the Euros ….Que sera…
