Illuminating the alumni …

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 following quote found on a messageboard,
supposedly attributed to an Oxford alumni not really into football …

‘Football is the only opportunity left in this country where the working class pay a big hefty tax to the rich and invariably get nothing for it’.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 True enough perhaps at the upper echelon
Where the Beautiful Dame, is most certainly a tart
But take away the finery, reveal a canny lass
And invariably you’ll find a game, such a class apart

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Perhaps even, translate that rebuttal to the park pitches
Where every class of a man, woman or child … is covered in riches …
If fit
If selected
Iffy kit
If respected
If match not postponed
If ref turns up

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 A lot of ifs – an’ no Butts!

Notes
