but I kick through the rhythm and my vision don’t stop
I got forty thousand poets and we’re sittin’ in the ground
but I’m landin’ up standin’ up drummin’ up a sound
cos I’m skitting with a mission like a team at the top
an’ I’m twisting my hip into football hop
I’m a football poet if you know what I’m sayin’
an’ I’m writin’ in my head while they’re playing their game

gonna shower my thoughts like a voice in the crowd
now some of them call it the People’s Game
but I’m just a fan and I ain’t the one to blame
for the way that it’s goin’ with the money and the bling
I can write what I like but it doesn’t change a thing
an’ some call it fantasy some call it mad
some say the roots of the game gone bad
I can’t prove it cos you move into a trap
I’m just tappin’ my crap into football rap
I’m a football poet if you know what I mean
an’ I gotta let it l out ‘cause I can’t keep it in

cos I love my footie like I love this planet
I’m just coming to terms with race and culture
I wanna claw it out like a digger or a vulture
some say racism vanished long ago
but take a look around you everywhere you go
we’re living in a multi-culti moment in time
and we’re never going back and we gonna keep tryin’
world gone crazy world gone wild
ticket price club kit way beyond a child
brand name identity make us all the same
whatever happened to the Beautiful Game?
now people might laugh an’ I get it all the time
silly little poet with me silly little rhyme
I take a lotta flack cos they think I’m bein’ cool
but i don’t break and I take the ridicule
cos I don’t care and I’m never gonna stop
I’m just speakin’ my mind from the bottom to the top
I’m a football poet an’ I love my football
an’ I say what I feel and I feel that’s all
