Is This A First….For Us?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We were rolling in dough as everyone knows
Since an oligarch and his millions stepped in
Last season we won a couple of trophies
Afore that we’d two premiership wins.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But the present is what I’m concerned with
And what comes next I’m somewhat philosophic
It seems we’ve just sold a diving Dutchman to Madrid
And for the first time in dealings….made a profit.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We’d buy them and sell them, then loan them all out
We’d money to burn, it would seem
But this close season, there’s been a complete turn about
Most of the deals that we’ve done have been ‘free’s’.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So a whinger has gone and the money spent on
A fast fleet of foot brand new face
Let’s hope that this flyer who’s taken his place
Can embrace our teams way with his pace!

Notes

Don’t hold me to it, but I believe the Robben transfer, if it goes through and the London papers are very low key on it, could be the very first time we’ve made a profit on a transfer deal since Roman(and I’m loaded) Abramo’rich came to the club and bailed us out of trouble.

I don’t quite know what this means but anyway….it’s afirst!

When you’ve won sweet F.A.for years, like us. All first’s seem to stick in yer mind for some strange reason.
