It all turned out right in the end

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We remembered Dundalk and that stunning defeat,
When we were odds-on with the dogs in the street.
How we crashed down to earth when we couldn’t defend!
But it all turned out right in the end.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The off-the-field problems were hard to ignore,
The Cork match revealed there was trouble in store.
I had to re-write all the lines that I’d penned,
But it all turned out right in the end.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The rumours were flowing that Shelbourne was doomed.
Dead to the world, we would not be exhumed.
But despite our fatality, we’re well on the mend,
For it all turned out right in the end.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 A howler by Willo! And Derry have scored!
Oh how the Bohs fans cavorted and roared.
Dark nights can be lonely when you haven’t a friend
But it all turned out right in the end.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But the lads dug in deep and they got their desserts,
And as for poor Derry, I’m sure that it hurts
They’re puzzled, bemused and they can’t comprehend
That it all turned out wrong in the end.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 And the merchants of doom still continue their song
And those jealous supporters sing blithely along.
But who can predict what the Fates might portend?
It might all turn out right in the end.

Notes
