Its An Expensive Game To Be Sure!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I dream of a World where wingers cross
Where yer striker knocks it in
At a pony a time for a plastic seat *
Sure that’s not too much to be asking?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A programme costs a prile*
A duece for a cup of tea*
With all this hard earned dosh I’m laying out
Come on entertain me!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 A monkey for a season ticket*
An awfull lot of dough
Yet you don’t want to give us 100%?
We’re entitled to let you know
Just what it is you’re doing wrong
How you give us the hump
Our money pays yer greengages*
Yet you treat us like we’re chumps!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 This World I spoke of earlier
Where yer striker knocks it in
Is it Tir Na Nog I’m after looking for
And is it buckshee to get in?*

This season I wanna be entertained, I’ve had enough of all the bad years and overpaid non achievers, win lose or draw come on entertain me and bring some fun and class back to this fantastic game of ours!

As a London Irish fella there’s a little bit of the blarney and the old rhymin slang in this poem so I’ll explain for those out there who don’t get the drift!

A pony is twenty five

A prile is three

A deuce is two

A monkey is five hundred

Greengages are wages

Buckshee is free
