It’s England We Love!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Floodlights are on and we’re at home
Michael Owen scores two great goals
Why even Rio has hit the net
And Gareth Barry earned much respect.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Scouse Stevie G a starring role
Like Sean Flight-Phillips and Joey Cole
Of Emile Heskey, what can you say
Or John Terry who wins again?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Young Micah Richards, old Ashley Cole
And the un-employed Paul Robinson
Who played in goal!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I’m gonna have to say
That it’s England we love
Gonna have to say
That it’s England we love
Oh yeah!

Notes

With sincere apoligies to the late Robert Palmer (R.I.P).

Whose song: ‘Addicted To Love’, gave me the idea for this.

A real mind blowing England performance against a team who it has to said ( t.v pundit speak) entertained me with some of the best approach play that I’ve seen for ages. But then we’ve come to expect nothing else from sides put out by one of the most astute coaches and disciples of sexy football from his generation, Guus Hiddink.

If the Russians had taken their chances and scored a couple of goals, leaving England to win 3-2 it would have still been a great result to a great game.

What does the England coach do now, re-call the names: Hargreaves, Lampard, Rooney, Beckham, Neville, or stick with this team formation he’s just stumbled upon, who have got him right out of jail?

Decisions, decisions.
