John Willie, Referee

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 John Willie was tall,
Thought he could kick a ball,
So he went for a trial down to Chelsea.
But they said, “sling your hook,
You’d be best with a book,
For you can’t kick a ball, can’t you see?”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So he tried other clubs,
Even playing for pubs
Just to see how his football was rated.
And he quickly found out,
As a player he’s nowt,
So he walked, to avoid being slated.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But he still loved the game
And he tried to remain
In the game he’d loved since he was three.
Then he knew straight away
That he would be, one day,
The man in the middle, referee.
