Just A Minute

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Seconds tick remembered names
From that day seventeen years ago
A lifetime for some
Lost in an afternoon
No dread, or preparation
Cup semi-final, anticipation
Nobody expected to die
For this game they lived for
Shocking images not forgotten
Staring faces seeing nothing
Shown on screens
Our faces stared back
Crying tears for loss and never-bes
Terrible reality from our TV
Sorrow doesn’t lessen
For those who still sit and pray
To see their love walk through the door
You wouldn’t know my face
But I can’t forget yours

Notes

A minutes silence to mark many lives left silent. In my thoughts often.
