Just Like My Father

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Just like my father I follow the redmen
The Liver Bird worn proudly upon my chest
And when comes the time for closing my eyes
It’s to Anfield I’ll take my rest

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I will think myself lucky that I lived to see
The finest the grandest the best
And when the time comes for taking my leave
It’s at Anfield that I’ll find my rest

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The Pride of Bill Shankly we think of them all
And we know we were truly blessed
For the noblest the brightest the grandest of all
Came to Anfield and here chose to rest

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Every pilgrim of faith they meet up at the gates
Every heart pounds with love for the reds
They send up their prayers with their banners and flags
And to Anfield they stand and take rest

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Mothers and Fathers and Daughters and Sons
With their memories that none will forget
The days of our glories those wonderful nights
Dream of Anfield and then take our rest.
