Justice Tonight (The Poem)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 On September 11th at the Liverpool Olympia a special concert took place.
A Rock n Roll ‘Justice’ message was delivered to a huge scouse fan base.
That brilliant supposed ‘one off’ gig was what music should be all about.
But later a short tour was lined up to help spread the word throughout.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So in December the tour kicked off under the banner ‘Justice Tonight’
This sort of show was a throw back to when musicians had a voice to fight.
Starting in Cardiff University the tour took in 6 major cities across the UK.
The concerts played before packed out or sold out venues all along the way.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I don’t need to list the names of all the various groups, speakers or acts.
As this show was more about getting justice, about the truth and the facts.
And through the music and the speeches a defiant message for all was shown.
And all achieved without the need of back slapping or trumpets being blown.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Surprise guests appeared at each city who offered their services free in support.
And each city was left in no doubt to what paper should never be read or bought.
Education through music was on offer, protest songs were spat out without fear.
A party atmosphere was evident on stage but the Justice theme was still loud and clear.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 No inflated egos came across on stage; thankfully it just wasn’t that type of tour
Nobody wanted to steal the headlines or the show; nobody had any points to score.
And now on December 11th the tour is over, a fantastic job by all has been done.
More people are now aware of the campaign and of why Scousers ‘Never
Buy The Sun’.
