Keep Your Shirt On, FIFA

Keep your shirt on, FIFA,
Where is your heart and soul?
What’s wrong with vests
And hairy chests
When someone scores a goal?

There’s something very harsh about
This rule you will deploy –
A yellow card
Is rather hard
For mere “excessive joy.”

What if your sleeves were dirty and
You went to take your shirt off?
Would you be booked
Because you looked
To rub a bit of dirt off?

Let me get this straight, lads –
(The time-frame isn’t broad)
No-one’s probing
Shirt disrobing,
‘Cept when goals are scored?

So taking off your shirt when a
Goal-kick is to be taken –
It’s quite okay
In open play,
Or pray, am I mistaken?

Crack down on the diving, lads,
Ensure that cheats are banned,
But to destroy
“Excessive joy”
Is getting out of hand.
