Keepers!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Don’t let me be a keeper
Cos keeper’s are so cool
But if you let a soft one in
Your’re treated like a fool

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Ridiculed and criticised
The last line of defence
To put up with all that stuff
You’d have to be quite dense?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Who would be a keeper?
Maybe David James
After all the mistakes he’s made
Calamity’s his name!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 David Seaman was a keeper
Pretty good although
With such a dodgy pony tail
He’d be at home in Status Quo!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Tommy Lawrence
Now there was a keeper
Who went down in folklore
The flying pig could take a dig
Fom kopites who’d adore!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 My idol was Lev Yashin
Whilst I was a mere lad
Awesome and so confident
Such agility he had

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Gilmar was a keeper
Playing for Brazil
With so many goal scoring forwards
The boredom made him ill!

Notes

Always loved being a keeper when I was a mere slip of a youth. Very powerful position to be in as the last line of defence between winning and losing. Till it all go’s pear shaped!

peace.
