Keeping It Simple.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Psyched up to enter the fray
In a game they were losing away
He was puzzled confused by methods being used
At three different takes on the play.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Harry Redknapp with his arm round his neck
Joe Jordan with that harsh dialect
Kevin Bond showed him notes on how to mark blokes
Pointless with their goal deficit.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The game? As a contest long gone
From the bench he had strived to get on
It’s not so much losing but instructions confusing
Kinda dampens the spark in the want.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Footballers are quite simple blokes
Few beers, nice few quid, a few strokes
But three lot of instructions bawled out on the touchline?
Would throw the intelligentsia at Mensa in droves.

Notes

In The North London derby on Saturday, I couldn’t help but feel a bit of sympathy for Bale the Spurs sub waiting to get on. Obviously keen to get on the pitch and help his team-mates try to get out of the mire, he was being bombarded with three lots of instruction on the touchline by his manager and two assistant coaches.

I know, I know, most footballers are a bit thick but three lots of what to do, how to do and where to do it from three different people? Give me a break.

Footballs a very simple game but three coaches, two armed with some pretty pictures drawn on a paper pad issuing instruction by verbally bashing a players ear ain’t exactly keeping it simple and advising any body is it?

Oh and by the way Spurs were three nil down, dead and buried at this point in the proceedings.

Peace

Kev.
