keepy up – and not just for appearances sake

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 (or how to get Marilyn Monroe into a football poem!!!!!!)

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 it’s wet and windy outside;
a mucky old day as the adage says
as dirty and grubby as yer average schoolkid’s trackie
and as blustery as an old fashioned blunderbus of a headmaster

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 but also outside ….
there is a lonely old ball
just sitting there on the grass
soaking up the sleeting rain
and yet
it looks so radiant
as well as redundant
it also looks as comely
as Marilyn Monroe
and it bewitches
and beguiles
to such an extent
that I leave my laptop
and surreptitiously at first
approach
as if safari ranger with a blowdart
and I surprise it
with a quick feint
and gentle lift up
a few little knockings
to get it airborne
and then a gentle caress
upon a thigh
a flip
and it’s cuddled into my chest
another flip
and it’s snuggled onto my shoulder
another flip
and we’re necking

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 wet kisses

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 such is love

Notes

a poem of two parts :

one as miserable as the day that was in it

the second – uplifted by a row resolved

(personal – post ski trip)
