Leading By Example.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Our heads set on Man Yoo next week
One down to The Spurs and asleep
Were it not for John Terry
Standing tall and immense,
We’d cast our eyes to The Tube in defeat.*

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 By awakening then cajoling our team
Giving orders to them loudly and screaming
Winning possession then passing
O’er the White Hart Lane grass
Emerging the leader we’d been missing for weeks.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 At times he went in against two
Coming out with the sphere as you do
When you’re totally committed,
Fit, focused, teeth gritted
To our cause as our confidence grew.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Sure patience is an admirable trait
When fortune isn’t going your way
So we kept pressing forward
Like Ancelotti had ordered
Gradually grasping control of the game.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Control never put a sphere in the net
So we called an expert shot from the bench
Who’d been laid up with malaria?
Now deemed fit for a tear up
With an under siege Tottenham defence.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Did that first shout of pen look nailed on?
Where I sat in the pub seemed it was
But that’s history now
All the screaming and shouting
Don’t mean nisht if proceedings ain’t stopped

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Then The Drog strikes again, it’s one each
The Spurs keeper couldn’t hold, couldn’t reach
If he saved it properly first time
He’d have sailed o’er the line
And landed sat next to fans in the seats.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 “We upped tempo” as Chrissie Waddle would say
To take possession and dictated the play
As The Spurs all at sea
Did quite rightly concede
A late pen that their brave keeper saved.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 So the spoils were shared at the death
John Terry showed his knack for defending
And of those fast asleep?
Can look to Man Yoo next week
And rightly so now that this game has ended!

Notes

* Double meaning here The Tube is the underground in London or slang for The Telly.

A blinding contest over at The Lane yesterday as Spurs and Chelsea went all out for a result, where a fully fit John Terry played better than his has managed for ages.

Should we have won with it that last minute penalty? Of course we should have but who cares, it’s the way we played after skipper Terry sparked the boys up that I’m more interested in, and with Super Frankie Lampard fit again as well, all bodes well for what is the busiest part of the season.

Peace.

Kev.
