Leftie

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Much fabled and elusive,
the cultured left foot,
a worn cliche,
or otherwise put,
a winger or forward –
a scorer of goals,
left-footers belong up front,
shattering souls.
But I’m a leftie,
yet I’m not on the wing,
with my lack of pace,
that would be a sin.
My left foot,
could murder my right,
but even so,
it ain’t a breathtaking sight.
We left-footers aren’t all good,
some of us are mediocre,
some of us just plain rubbish…
… some of us even play in goals!

Notes

My mate’s can’t believe I’m left footed, they say I’m neither-footed (except at taking penalties – oh the irony.) I once had to play at left-midfield,I scored a goal by accident because I slipped trying to cross it when the pitch was very wet – NEVER AGAIN!
