Let The Bird’s Go It…..Alone

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Whilst days are bright and long
Thoughts linger on
As warm evenings wind up
Just how did we play so bad
In the 2006 World Cup?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Some blame the amount of games our boys
Played in that last season?
Other blokes played as many but were fitter
So that can’t be the reason?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Blame the Wags all fake suntans
And Manolo heels clip clopping
That’s it! Our boys are plain worn out
From flashing credit cards and shopping!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “You can’t blame the birds that’s just absurd
They toasted England’s glory”?
If our fans had been drunk half as much
The polizie would have locked them up
But that’s another story!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Next time, if there is one!
Leave the birds at home
Mind you most are fly by nights
So by then they will have flown

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Did any other team make such a scene
Of showing off like rich young fools?
No they were there to win their games
And focus on “The Jules”

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Monks aint what we’re looking for
But for just one precious month
Let the birds have a jolly up in Centreparcs
Whilst the blokes get business done!

Notes

This is NOT a sexist poem but purely a light hearted look at maybe…just maybe one of the reasons why we were such a shambles in the World Cup.

Now that the tournament is over and the stewards enquiry takes place back at Soho Square as to the how’s and why’s of such a terrible show by our blokes, we may decide to focus on the football next time with all other distractions out of the way for a month or so?

London blokes use the term birds all the time for the opposite sex so that’s why its in the poem, no disrespect is meant to that beautiful art form known as the female whatsoever!

peace.

kev.
