Let’s Just Say I Woz Confident.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Rain was pelting the windows indoors
As I woke from a dream that we scored
A prile of goals at The Arsenal
Without fear of reprisal
I can’t say I’ve felt that before.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Over tea and the smell of fresh toast
To me kids in bravado I boast
“I’ve got this weird winning feeling
There’s three points we’ll be stealing
At The Emirates, from The Arsenal, our hosts.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As the time for the kick off arrived
I felt confident, certain, alive
We’d be putting the skids
Beneath uber mans kids
In our televised contest on Sky.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We were slow from the start to a fault
Though unfazed the score stayed at nought nought
As a cats and dogs lashing
Pullen all thoughts of the thrashing
I predicted that morning indoors.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 As our full back got slated aloud
By a partisan North London crowd
In the space of five minutes
He silenced his critics
With two crosses that nailed them… two down.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Silver like rain drops did fall
As silken net was caressed at three nought
Red plastic seats began crashing
As them Gooners went dashing
For the exits bearing witness to a mauling.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Ancellotti stood soaked to the skin
Urging, coaxing, demanding we win
Whilst just down the touch-line
A man whose team failed to shine
Cursed officialdom errs yet again.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 “Only one Arsene Wenger” rang out
When his young side were two nothing down
But when that third one flew in
Rain soaked Blues were stood cheering
In a half empty North London shroud.

Notes

After getting throughly soaked through to the skin coming home from work, late on Satuday night. I had a bit of a lie in yesterday morning, and awoke feeling very confident we’d do well over at The Arsenal in the London derby later in the day. It proved to be true. I didn’t actually predict the score (that’s a bit of a porky) but I thought that we’d win comfortably, as was the case. Not wishing to brag or boast just telling, in the poem, exactly what happened.

Peace.

Kev.
