Let’s not run away with ourselves…

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s strange to pick up points we don’t deserve,
to snatch a win when we have been outplayed.
Let’s hope we hold some luck back in reserve.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Don’t get me wrong – we play with style and verve
and none of us have come away dismayed
at picking up three points we don’t deserve.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 (And last year’s matches really only serve
to make us think that luck, for us, had strayed.
Let’s hope this year we hold some in reserve!)

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I’m sure that some will think I have a nerve –
we’re miles ahead with only ten games played.
It’s strange to pick up points we don’t deserve.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But shots get scuffed and goal bound shots may swerve
and sudden rain may fall on our parade
if we don’t hold some luck back in reserve.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 If Einstein is correct, then time may curve
and bad luck might undo the strides we’ve made.
It’s strange to pick up points we don’t deserve.
Let’s hope we hold some luck back in reserve.
