Liverpool Glory

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Gone the dreams of youth’s ambition
Gone the kisses of her sun
And gone the days of golden vision
Fast fading every one
Gone the fever in the heart beat
Gone the thrilling touch
And gone the times that all remembered
And loved so very much

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But still the passion deep within us
But still the call we hear
And close we feel to never leave us
Anfield’s sons draw ever near
So dreams may flee for better climates
Leave my wishes to their sleep
No love for any other’s silver
Could match this love so long so deep

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So glory fickle may well be
And name itself a price
I’m Anfield bound in life and death
And will forever walk beside
What would I give to pull on the shirt
And wear the famous crest
To stand as one of the chosen sons
A Liver Bird upon my chest

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 To walk on through the sacred tunnel
Put my hands upon the plaque
“This Is Anfield” proud declares
Number 7 across my back
To stand upon the Anfield turf
And then receive the cheers
To wipe away the tears of joy
And then wipe away the years

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 To gaze up from the Kemlyn Road
And hear the voices of the past
The passion of Bill Shankly
Whilst Big Tosh calls for a pass
The sea of red that is the Kop
Old Moses would’ve been proud
And the Christ who fed the masses
Would’ve loved this passionate crowd!
