Loony Toons

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It wasn’t comical
but laughable
in a sardonic kind of way
when animosity
turned into
on-pitch affray

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Not for the first time
Lee Bowyer attacks
a coloured person
how many more chances
should he get
and will his conduct worsen?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Team mates?
you’re ‘avin a laugh
the apologies profuse but pointed
missing out each other
the labyrinTyne louts
that the crowd, once annointed

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But at least the tea-lady
realised the value
of a cup o’ rosy lee
quietly intervening
with Souness still seething
before issuing his plea

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Another chance
(yet again)
for the pugilistic pair
who’ve done so much damage
to a club’s reputation
– but is that really fair?

Notes

I’m a bit slow off the mark, but here’s my tuppence worth on the incident
between Lee Boywer and Kieron Dyer, from Saturday 2nd April.
