Loving London Memories.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There are incidents one remembers
Like classic goals, great saves,
Being at Highbury in December
With you there beside me, when at last, we won away.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Days out at Craven Cottage
When the rain swept through your hair
Coming off the Thames in droves
To take that pac-a-mac we shared.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Behind the goal at Upton Park
With our “keeper” carried off
Where Tommy Langley wore the goalies garb
To great “Chicken Run” applause.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 That wondrous night down at The Valley
When Johnny Bumstead smashed one in
Thirty or was it forty yards?, anyway
He bent it in like some Brazilian.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But the vison of you darlin
That’s etched forever in me brain
Is of ecstasy, in the form of you, and two Kerry Dixon diamonds
As the pair of us celebrated…
Our seasonal win, at White Hart Lane!

Notes

Fond London football memories. With wins at White Hart Lane, where we always do well, and of the Old Highbury, where I thought we’d never win a game, before they shut it down…. being the fondest!
