Lucky Strike

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Peter, Thorne in our side
Ironic Lightning, he’s only struck twice
Robert Earnshaw is a cracker
His injured groin means he’s on ice

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The striker on fire earns ninety quid a week
The boy from Beccles, Chris Martin
He’s scored a few and we hope he stays
Higher wages may tempt a centre-parting

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Scoring could have been as easy as ABC
If we hadn’t swapped players for wonga
We used to have Ashton and Bellamy
Crouch on loan, wish it was longer

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Our bright young hopes are out on loan
At Rotherham, Orient and Kings Lynn
Young legs getting first team action
To learn what it’s like to win

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 One shining light is a midfield-y winger
Striker-come-filling-the-hole
He never knows what he’ll do next
Except it will finish off with a goal

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So let’s hear it for our main man
Outspoken, loyal, skilful – he’s Hucks
Player of the Season has to be Huckerby
He’ll say “I was really something, oh shucks”

Notes

Voting has begun for Player of the Season, Dion Dublin might have got it if not for injury, Shackell could come a close second. Darren Huckerby actually wants to play for Norwich City – he said so when he signed and he’s still here saying it. The grass always seems greener on the other side but the shorts are definitely greener at Norwich.
