Magic Roundabout

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Supposed symbol of Swindon:
the series of roundabouts right
outside town’s football ground
where fans have chosen
to make their last stand.
Supporters to congregate
in the middle
in vain appeal
to bemused motorists
and Saturday shoppers.
‘Save our Swindon’ the shout
of life-long fans
and youngsters alike,
hell-bent on saving
the club they love.
Too little, too late?

Notes

Before a recent cash injection many fans feared this weekend’s Tranmere fixture would be the club’s last league game. Protests will still go ahead before and after the match.
