Me First Pair Of Boots !

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 For a pair of Kick Off Continentals
I drove the mammy mental
Thirty nine and eleven was the cost
I’d just discovered game
Football was its name
Which you can’t play in black plimsolls in the frost !

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I went to shoe shop after school
To drool like a smitten fool
At cherised boots as they lay nestled in the box
FHW*’s where I dragged me mam
To part with princely sum
I knew how hard she struggled for that dosh
But I loved her even more
Much more than ere before
Without those boots all self esteem was lost !

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I got them home indoors
Adored them on the floor
Dubbined them and laced them up criss crossed
Each morning I awoke
I gave the toes a poke
When I wore those boots, Pele ceased to be boss !

* Freeman Hardie and Willis, shoe shop in London. Might be around the country as well not too sure.
