Memories of Red Dreams

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 During the season of 2001
All eyes were on the pool,
Manchester United’s glory had been and gone
It was Liverpool’s time to be cool.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Days of fortune for us all
Cardiff triumphs who could ask for more?
Against Alaves it was a close call
But win we did 5 goals to 4!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The glory days are back to stay
Or that is what I thought,
But glory passed through the Liverpool way
And now trophies are all I sought.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Thinking back to days of the treble
And Gary Mc’s smiling face,
Owen, Heskey and Fowler the rebel
Although he was rather ace.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We miss Fowler and Gary Mc
In our Liverpool side,
From Manchester City lets buy Fowler back
And restore some Liverpool pride.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A lethal threat in front of goal
But tensions with the gaffer mounted
Digging deeper into a hole
Until Houllier pouted.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Now, we’ve won the Worthington Cup
Since our triumphs in 2001,
And we are far from being ‘On the up’
But predicted to win the league, by no other than ‘Big Ron!’

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 What happens next is down to Houllier and the team
Maybe Big Ron will be right,
Let the fans dream
For a future that is bright.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 We’ve plenty of talent
Coming through the academy,
And even though the fans rant
Consistency is the key.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Financial gain will belong to us
When we move to our Stanley park stadium,
Bringing along a buzz
With champagne filled to the FA Cups brim.

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 Although a pipe dream for the time being
But one we must cling to,
For one day the dream will be seeing
A reality of red for me and you.

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 My mind wanders back to 2001
Remembering the cheers and the laughter,
But the dream has faded until completely gone
Some things in life are never fair.

13 Leave a comment on verse 13 0 It’s Arsenal on Saturday
And we must improve,
The Liverpool way
We must pass and move!

14 Leave a comment on verse 14 0 So fingers crossed
We will be fine,
For we cannot lose at any cost
And a Liverpool victory would be a good sign!
