Mixed Up

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It was Saturday
When the sky was a roof to our terraces
Not an extra for those who pay

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It was the working mans sport
When the net was something that bulged with goals
The world wide web meant nought

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It was the beautiful game
When a Brazilian was just a bloke called Pele
We waxed lyrical at the mention of his name

Notes

Yeah I know, going on about the good old days again. It’s just that the recent tributes to Sir Bobby Robson reminded me that more bits of our
deluxe memory jigsaw are now lost. Are there gentlemen still in
existence in the football world?. Seems like it’s dog eat dog to me.
