Moses down by the Red River

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I was raised up besides the red Mersey
On tales of the grand Anfield lads
From Stubbins to Liddell then Shankly
Who brought us the best in the land
The Red scarves I saw as my sunsets
The Red shirt my welcoming sky
And the earth ‘neath my feet made for heroes
Whose glorious deeds none denied
The songs of the Kop like the angels
Whilst Moses stood back to admire
And he nodded to Noah with pleasure
Then yelled “Pick us up a “proee” Isiah!”

Notes

(“proee” – programme)

Fratton Park tonight…..bit of a banana skin for us many a time the Pompey Boys….but “COME ON YOU REDMEN!”

“I was born by the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish Sea
It might not look like heaven to you
But it’s home sweet home to me”
