A red sea for a crowd

And wondered “What’s all this?
A wave of red scarves held up high?
Our gaffa’s had nowt like this!”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The pilgrims came from far and wide
Their hearts of red on fire
The songs lit up the Anfield Road
Just like a heavenly choir

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Transfixed by this was Moses and
He called for James and John
“You two lads seen aught like this
Where are these people from?”

To Moses by his side
“That place down there is Anfield son
And tae us is Paradise”

18 Leagues 4 Euro Cups
All won The Liverpool Way”

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 “King Kenny he could play they say
With Heighway on the wing
Now I’ve a chance with Rafa’s lads
To watch the glory days again”

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Shankly nodded “Now you know
If it’s football that you want
Just make your way to Anfield son”
Moses smiled, went in the Kop.

Notes

“I was born by the banks of the Mersey
Facin’ the Irish Sea
It might not look like heaven to you
But its home sweet home to me”
