He’d fill every seat in the ground
Couldn’t we pay Barcelona in installments
Because I hear they’d sell for a billion pound.

We could tempt him with a free Jaguar car
Let him live rent free in our beautiful Cathedral
Only the best for the Argentinian superstar.

My neighbour goes to Benidorm once a year
He says lionel would be more than welcome to come
As long as he pays for his own paella and beer.

Premiership, Champions League, Carling and F.A.Cup
Us fans can then celebrate with lots of caviar
And bucket loads of champagne we’d all sup.

With a sponsered walk from Coventry to Timbuktu
All the blisters will be well worth all the pain
If lionel Messi decides to wear the Sky blue.

Because Coventry are his favourite English team
But alas my joy was only short lived
When I discovered it was all just a crazy dream.

Even my local vicar wants him playing here
He often prays to God from the pulpit.

What a player, so much skill, and a great finisher, he’s got the lot.
He just goes to show, size doesn’t matter, if your good enough, and he is ! Kevin Keegan came to Coventry for a trial, our then manager Jimmy Hill, told him he was to small to be a footballer.
Jimmy Hill is a God to us fans here, but he made one hell of a cock up there ! Keegan always loved to play against Coventry, I wonder why ?
