Mugged down in Limerick

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We were mugged down in Limerick,
Oh, town of ill-repute!
We never saw it coming till
The lads put in the boot.
The stomach-churning agony
The pain down deep inside,
We sunk down on the bloodied earth
And hung our heads and cried.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We were filleted in Limerick,
They really robbed us blind,
They knocked the stuffing out of us
And took us from behind.
We nearly made it out of town
The race was almost won,
Then suddenly we’re staring down
The barrel of a gun.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We were ambushed down in Limerick,
We never reached our goal.
A shot rang out from somewhere high
Upon the grassy knoll.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,
Just set up for the kill.
The first aid box is empty save
One very bitter pill.

Notes

Two one up with 70 minutes gone. Lost 3-2 through a goal in the 92nd minute. Will we ever win again?
