Name The Day

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When I got married
When I said ‘I do’
I had two bouquets
One Red, and one Blue

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 My dad was so happy
To get me off his hands
More so when he found
The grooms family are fans

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He got on famously
With my husband to be
Who had some spare tickets
Dad got in for free

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 My man plied him with pies
And pints, like he’s well-heeled
To deliver the news
That his last name is Field

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Why should that matter?
Well thanks to Dad and my Gran
They gave me the names
Eva Toni-Ann

Notes

When this poem came into my head, it had a scouse accent. Inspired by hearing that someone had recently named their daughter Eva Toni-Ann. There must be an Ann Field out there, maybe even a Crystal Palace. And no end of blokes named after an entire Manchester United cup winning team.

Editor’s note :
S B, subliminally, you might have also been triggered by the recent offering from a debutante Paul H Tubb

Also, some wag on April Fool’s day 2004, posted up some offerings as ‘Ann Field’ on this site
