Although a win was not presumed,
As Friday’s match with Kildare loomed,
Most neutral pundits had assumed
That prospects for a draw were doomed.
Glenn Crowe looked trim and quite well-groomed,
As in the net his first shot zoomed,
And last year’s hunger was exhumed,
As Kildare County were consumed.
